Hi Team – For week ending 3/28 your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 79 families and provided groceries to a total of 153 people. 52 of the families received groceries through our Last Mile home delivery program.
Our supermarket food rescue pickups, food donations and purchases totaled 5,100 lbs. Volunteers for this week included Adam, Amy & Hunter, Angie, Pastor Charlie & Melissa, Dee & Bill, Deirdra & Dennis, Gary, Jean, Kelly, Laura, Lois & Albert, Michelle, Misty & David & Beth, and myself.
During our last week of March we processed an amazing 2 ½ tons of food, and a total of 9 tons distributed for the entire month. As we close out the first quarter of 2021, your Stroudwater Food Pantry finds itself on an annualized pace to distribute 115 tons of food this year to the meal insecure of southern and central Maine; a staggering 25 more tons than 2020! Time will tell if we hit, or exceed, that number at year end, but wherever we land it will be due to the tireless efforts of our pantry volunteers. Thank you everyone who has volunteered so far this year! — Doug
