Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 4/01/18

Hi Team – Yesterday your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 18 families during a quiet Easter Sunday afternoon, providing groceries to a total of 55 people.  3 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket rescue food pickups, plus church donations (35 lbs.) and this week’s purchased food, yielded 2,897 lbs.  This week’s volunteers included Adam, Angie, Anna, Anne, Christine, Gary, Jean, Karlene, Lois, Michael C, Mike H, Phil, Rob, Steve and myself.

We had some exciting things happen this week:

  • On Good Friday 3/30 we concluded our Easter Food Drive with the Spectrum Communications Administration office.  They collected and donated 210 lbs. of food!  It was the first drive their Admin office had done for SFP, and they are already talking about when they can do the next one for us.   Thank you Spectrum!
  • Our Prayer and Healing Ministry continues to pray for anyone seeking prayer, and on Easter one person made a decision for Christ!
  • On Tuesday 3/27 the teens from the Westbrook My Place Teen Center came to the church and built 208 Roadside Assistance food bags to be given to homeless people standing in the street with cardboard signs.  Thank you Angie, Anna, Gary, and Lois for joining in on the fun with the kids, and as always, thank you MPTC for helping us provide relief to the most vulnerable among us in our community!
