Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 3/31/19

Hi Team – It was a busy Sunday at your Stroudwater Food Pantry this week as we served 57 families, providing groceries to a total of 149 people.  7 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, outside donations, and purchased foods totaled 1,537 lbs. Volunteers for this week included Angie, Anna and Rudy, Anne, Bill B, Deb and Greg, Debbie S, Dee Dee, Donna Y, Jean, Laura, Nick, Nicki, Phil, Rebecca, Rena, Steve, Tammy, and myself.

This week the Local S6 Union at the Bath Iron Works naval yard sponsored a gate collection fund raiser for your Stroudwater Food Pantry.  Angie, Anna and Rudy, Bill Barrows, Laura, Steve, Tammy, and myself arrived at 5:45am; we received our gate assignments, grabbed buckets and headed out to collect cash donations from Union members as they were arriving for work.  Bill coordinated Union efforts, and was joined by Andy, Rocky and other members who assisted with the collection. The total donation from S6 members was $1,285, and will go a long way in helping to keep your Stroudwater Food Pantry financially solvent this year!

Thank you Local S6!  And thank you pantry volunteers who manned the gates at BIW, then hustled back to Portland and Westbrook for food pickups and delivery to the church!  — Doug
