Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 6/9/19

Hi Team – This past Sunday your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 37 families and provided groceries to a total of 109 people.  6 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, and donations, totaled 2,383 lbs.  Volunteers for this week included Angie, Anna, Anne, Cat, Debbie, Dee Dee, Jean, Michelle, Misty/David/Ben/Beth, Nick, Nicki, Phil, Rena, Steve, and myself.

June is the month we prepare the groceries for the 4-day food pantry that is one of the Washington County Mission Trip projects.  On Thursday the 6th the teens from the My Place Teen Center came to the church and built 180 bags of nonperishable groceries for the July mission trip.  Similarly, on the 11th and 12th, members of our church including Debbie, Laura, Jean, Steve, Al and Martha Withee, Tammy and myself filled 180 banana cases with boxes of cereal.  In all, 3½ tons of food is ready to be part of the caravan of people and mission supplies departing the church on July 14th for the drive up to Princeton and Big Lake.  The pantry project will operate July 15th thru 18th and be open to anyone in Washington County.

Thank you everyone who volunteered for this week’s Friday pickups, for our Sunday pantry operations, and for the 3 days spent preparing the pantry groceries for Washington County.  God Bless you all!  —  Doug
