Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 8/11/19

Hi Team – This past Sunday your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 34 families and provided groceries to a total of 84 people.  2 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket food rescue pickups and food donations totaled 1,210 lbs.  Volunteers for this week included, Cat, Debbie, Karlene, Lois, Phil, Rena, Sandra, Steve, Tammy and myself.

This week marks the fourth year your Stroudwater has been in operation.  We opened our doors on August 12, 2015.  During the past four years we’ve had families visit us 9,290 times, and we distributed 209 tons of groceries to them.  This includes the communities we serve in the greater Portland area, families in Washington County, and the support we provide to institutions like the My Place Teen Center, and to shelters.

Everything your Stroudwater Food Pantry has accomplished in the last four years was achieved through your support, your volunteering, and your commitment to our mission:

To do the work of Jesus by feeding those in need, and reducing the                                                 number of meal insecure throughout Southern Maine.                                                                              “For I was hungry and you fed me…”

Thank you everyone!
