Hi Team – It was a very busy week, ending Sunday the 30th, at your Stroudwater Food Pantry as we served 85 families and provided groceries to a total of 183 people. 53 families received groceries through our Last Mile home delivery program. 2 new families joined the pantry this week.
Our supermarket food rescue pickups and food donations totaled 3,408 lbs. Volunteers for this week included Adam, Alison, Anna, Deirdra & Dennis, Jake, Jean, Kiley, Laura, Rebecca, Steve D, Tom & Claire, and myself.
As we close out August we look back upon what has been our busiest month so far this year; we served 344 families, amounting to 832 people being fed with Stroudwater Food Pantry groceries. This volume is consistent with the 37% increase we saw in families served the first half of this year, vs. the same time last year. As COVID-19 continues to drive the volume of families in need, pantry volunteers continue to rise to the occasion and distribute groceries to those whom we serve, during these trying times. Thank you everyone who volunteered during the month of August, and God Bless you!
