Hi Team – For the week ending 8/13 your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 55 families and provided groceries to a total of 131 people. 33 of the families received groceries through our Last Mile home delivery program. 3 new households joined the food pantry this week.
Our supermarket food rescue pickups, food donations and purchases totaled 2,990 lbs. Volunteers for this week included Adam, Albert, Amy & Jake, Angie, Hanna, Jean, Laura, Martha & Al, Michelle, Tammy, Wayne, Will and myself.
This week your Stroudwater Food Pantry celebrates its 6th year anniversary of operations. During the last six years, SFP has delivered 330 tons of food to meal insecure families throughout numerous communities across Maine. We have served families from all walks of life, and have attempted to meet their special needs and special diets. And for families who cannot come to our pantry, our Last Mile home delivery program allows us to take large boxes of groceries to their doorstep.
Stroudwater Food Pantry’s growth, impact, and sustainability are due entirely to our wonderful volunteers who pickup and process food, who build boxes of groceries, and who distribute and deliver them. There have been many volunteers who have passed through our ranks to play a hand in the success of the pantry; some supported our early years and have since moved on, and some continue to volunteer with us even now. All of you, past and present, have created the profound impact this ministry has had on the families and communities whom we serve! Thank you, and God Bless you all !! — Doug
