Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 10/22/17

Hi Team –It was a busy week this week at your Stroudwater Food Pantry, we served 42 families, providing groceries to a total of 135 people.  9 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket rescue food pickups, plus church donations and this week’s purchased food yielded 1,328 lbs.  This week’s volunteers included Anna, Melissa, Lois, Karlene, Autumn, Rena, Michael C, Steve, Adam, Angie and myself.

What’s going on at SFP:

  • Your Stroudwater Food Pantry is planning a happy Thanksgiving for families who cannot afford one.  Cheverus High School has pledged to provide us 75 Thanksgiving dinner baskets complete with turkeys and all the trimmings.  Like last year, we are planning to build our own dinner baskets as well, and this year are targeting to distribute 100 Thanksgiving dinners to families who otherwise would not have one.  We have already signed up 33 families to receive them; if you know of a family who would welcome a dinner basket, please let me or anyone in the pantry know.
  • The Pantry Prayer Ministry has proven to be a blessing and physical healing for clients seeking prayer on Sundays.   This week 2 clients made a decision for Christ, praise the Lord!  If you have a heart to pray for others, see Adam or myself to join us in an opportunity to minister to the spiritual needs of our community.
