Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 1/7/18

Hi Team – Happy New Year!  This past Sunday your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 40 families, providing groceries to a total of 119 people.  4 new families joined the pantry.

Our supermarket rescue food pickups, plus church donations and this week’s purchased food yielded 1,490 lbs.  This week’s volunteers included Adam, Anna, Autumn W, Jean, Laura, Lois, Marie, Melissa, Michael C, Mike H, Rena, and myself.

2017 was an amazing year for your Stroudwater Food Pantry.  Our Annual Report will be published at the end of the month, but I wanted to share a few items with you from the year’s summary:

  • 479 different families came to Stroudwater Food Pantry in 2017, the majority of them on a regular and repetitive basis.
  • We collected, processed and distributed 53 tons of food last year to our pantry clients.
  • We distributed 100 Thanksgiving dinners and 22 Christmas dinners to families who did not have one.
  • 57 clients made decision for Christ, as part of the Prayer and Healing ministry that was started in April.

Everything your Stroudwater Food Pantry achieved in 2017 was accomplished through the efforts of its many dedicated volunteers and supporters.  Thank you everyone who contributed to the success of the food pantry.  As this ministry enters into the new year, please pray for our continued success and ability to, do the work of Jesus by feeding those in need and reducing the number of food insecure within the Greater Portland Community”  in 2018.  “For I was hungry and you fed me…”             — Doug
