Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 12/16/18

Hi Team –This past Sunday was a busy day as we served 42 families, providing groceries to a total of 122 people this week.  3 new families joined the pantry.

Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, outside donations, and purchased foods totaled 3,035 lbs. Volunteers for this week included,  Angie, Anne, Pastor Bill, Cat, Clay, Debbie, Jean, Lois, Nicki, Phil, Rena, Sandra, Steve, Tammy and myself.

On Friday the 14th we concluded our food drive with the Spectrum Communications Call Center in Portland.  Spectrum collected an incredible amount of food, totaling 1,555 lbs of non-perishable food items, one of our biggest food drives ever!  Their donation provides meals to our more-than 500 actively enrolled clients, and some of what they donated will also be used in our Roadside Assistance Program to feed homeless people standing in the street.   Additionally, a portion of their donation is being used in the 25 Christmas Dinners that will go to families in need in Princeton, Washington County.  The Spectrum food drive helps to improve the quality of life for those who are meal insecure across the state of Maine!  Thank You to the Spectrum Communications Call Center!!         — Doug
