Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 3/29/20

Hi Team – This past Sunday the 29th your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 73 families and provided groceries to a total of 180 people.  10 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket food rescue pickups and food donations totaled 4,803 lbs.  Volunteers for this week included Adam, Angie, Amy VP, Cat, Deirdra L., Donna and Rhianna, Jean, Phil, Michelle, Rena, Scott, Steve D. and myself.  This week we initiated a new Monday food pickup at the Westbrook Hannaford, making this our fifth weekly supermarket pickup each week.

Your Stroudwater Food Pantry continues to remain open to serve the public, Sundays 1-3pm, and has implemented a “no contact” grocery distribution process on Sundays, that keeps volunteers separated (inside the building) from pantry clients (outside the building).

We face new challenges during this season of COVID-19 pandemic, namely, an increasing number of clients, finding enough food to feed them all, and shrinking volunteer resources to service them.  With that in mind, please give consideration to new opportunities to volunteer in the pantry, as they become available.

I would like to offer a special thanks to everyone who is able to continue volunteering during the challenges we all face throughout these difficult times.  Thank you, and God Bless you!  — Doug
