Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 5/24/20

Hi Team – For the week ending Sunday the 24th your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 82 families and provided groceries to a total of 161 people.  We delivered groceries to the homes of 42 families through our Last Mile home delivery program.  9 new families joined the pantry this week.

Our supermarket food rescue pickups and food donations totaled 3,841lbs.  Volunteers for this week included Angie, Chad, Deirdra & Dennis, Donna & Rhianna, Jean, Michelle, Rena, Steve, and myself.

Our long-awaited pantry-food storage shed has finally been delivered and built!  There is some finishing work needed to close off the bottom edges; once completed we can start using it.  The pantry shed will provide an expansion of much need new storage for non-perishable food, particularly dry-store non-perishables that are generally impervious to heat and cold. We expect to have it open for business in a couple of weeks, and are really looking forward moving some of our food inventory from inside the church to inside our new shed!  —  Doug
