Hi Team – Yesterday your Stroudwater Food Pantry recorded it busiest Sunday ever since opening our doors in August 2015! We served 77 families, providing groceries to a total of 245 people this week. 13 new families joined the pantry.
Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, outside donations, and purchased foods totaled 1,677 lbs. this past Friday. Volunteers for this week included, Angie, Anne, Cat, Debbie, Donna, Greg, Jean, Lois, Michael, Nicki, Phil, Rena, Steve, Tammy and myself.
Our fourth annual distribution of Thanksgiving dinner baskets will be on Tuesday, November 20th. We are collecting frozen turkeys (12-20lbs) to build dinner baskets with; if you would like to donate one or two turkeys, please bring them to the church between 9-12noon on Sunday the 18th. And SAVE THE DATE if you wish to volunteer for the 2oth! We need volunteers for:
- Tuesday morning the 20th, from 9am to 12 noon; we need helpers to build more than 25 Thanksgiving dinner baskets.
- Tuesday afternoon the 20th, from 12:30pm-to 3:30pm; we need helpers to distribute more than 100 dinner baskets to families who would otherwise not have a Thanksgiving dinner.
Please see me or Laura Pitcher, or send either of us an email, if you want to volunteer on November 20th ! And turkeys are now ON SALE, so don’t forget to bring us a frozen turkey on Sunday the 18th! Thank you! — Doug
