Stroudwater Food Pantry Status – 1/20/19

Hi Team – We had a slow Sunday this week as winter storm Harper made it presence felt across the state of Maine.  We served 8 families, providing groceries to a total of 21 people.  Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, outside donations, and purchased foods totaled 1,901 lbs. Volunteers for this week included Al W., Angie, Anna, Anne, Cat, Donna & Rhianna, Jean, Laura & Adam, Lois,  Nicki, Phil, Rena, Sandra, Steve, myself.

On Monday the 14th the Westbrook Community Center suffered an electrical fire that disabled the entire building.  Fortunately, no one was injured and the building suffered very little actual fire damage.  Unfortunately, all the services that operate out of that building were impacted by the loss of electricity, including the Westbrook Food Pantry.  In support of the WFP and the Westbrook community, Stroudwater Food Pantry will open it’s doors on Tuesday night the 22nd, 6:00pm to 7:30 pm.  These are the Tuesday night hours families would normally be served by the Westbrook Food Pantry, and everyone will be welcome to come for groceries.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered this week!  — Doug
