Hi Team – December continues to be a busy month as your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 54 families this past Sunday, providing groceries to 144 people. 4 new families joined the pantry this week. Our supermarket food rescue pickups, food donations and purchases totaled 2,382 lbs. Volunteers included Adam, Amy, Anne, Cat, Debbie, Donna W, Jean, Karlene, Laura, Lois, Nick, Phil, Rena, Sandra, Steve and myself.
In addition to Sunday’s Pantry clients, this week your Stroudwater Food Pantry provided Christmas Dinners (a turkey with all the side dishes) to 29 families in Washington County. Pastor Bill and I drove up to the Princeton Middle School and delivered Christmas dinners to Donna Netzer, who is spearheading the distribution locally. Just like last year, these dinners will be very much appreciated by families who would otherwise not have had such a Christmas Dinner.
We have a busy Friday planned this week as we receive the donations from our four December food drives. The Spectrum Communications Corporate offices, Spectrum Communications Call Center, Berry-Dunn Management Consulting, and Pine State Services will provide us a lot of non-perishable food; fortunately, we will have some volunteers from Idexx on Friday to help sort it all out.
Thank you everyone who volunteered this week; your commitment continues to make a brighter Christmas for everyone we serve! — Doug
