Hi Team – This past Sunday your Stroudwater Food Pantry served 36 families and provided groceries to a total of 104 people. 4 new families joined the pantry this week.
Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, and donations, totaled a whopping 3,293lbs. Volunteers for this week included Angie, Anne, Cat, Debbie S, Donna, Jean, Lois, Nick, Nicki, Phil, Rena, Sandra, Steve, and myself. Mike H. offered prayers for anyone seeking prayer.
Your Stroudwater Food Pantry was recently USDA approved for TEFAP (The Emergency Family Assistance Program). This means we qualify for additional food, and different types of food, that are provided to us through Wayside Food Programs in Portland. This food will help us better serve our pantry clients and our community. The processing of additional food makes more work for all us, but it is surely worth it! Hi Team – Your Stroudwater Food Pantry was open on Easter Sunday, but it proved to be a leisurely paced day as we served 30 families, providing groceries to a total of 80 people. 2 new families joined the pantry this week.

This week was our first pickup from Wayside Food Programs in Portland. Their donation was an additional 1,480 lbs.; coupled with our supermarket pickups that is nearly 2 tons of food processed this week! Hi Team – It was a busy Sunday at your Stroudwater Food Pantry this week as we served 57 families, providing groceries to a total of 149 people. 7 new families joined the pantry this week.
Our supermarket fresh rescue food pickups, outside donations, and purchased foods totaled 1,537 lbs. Volunteers for this week included Angie, Anna and Rudy, Anne, Bill B, Deb and Greg, Debbie S, Dee Dee, Donna Y, Jean, Laura, Nick, Nicki, Phil, Rebecca, Rena, Steve, Tammy, and myself.
This week the Local S6 Union at the Bath Iron Works naval yard sponsored a gate collection fund raiser for your Stroudwater Food Pantry. Angie, Anna and Rudy, Bill Barrows, Laura, Steve, Tammy, and myself arrived at 5:45am; we received our gate assignments, grabbed buckets and headed out to collect cash donations from Union members as they were arriving for work. Bill coordinated Union efforts, and was joined by Andy, Rocky and other members who assisted with the collection. The total donation from S6 members was $1,285, and will go a long way in helping to keep your Stroudwater Food Pantry financially solvent this year!
Thank you Local S6! And thank you pantry volunteers who manned the gates at BIW, then hustled back to Portland and Westbrook for food pickups and delivery to the church! — Doug
